Because of its famous gambling-oriented facilities and casino hotels, "Las Vegas" was known as the "Entertainment Capital of the World" and was synonymous with adult entertainment until the early 1990s. The Downtown Las Vegas is on the north of the Strip, The core of which is Fremont Street. You can have a "Fremont Street Experience" by walking in the dazzling show of lights, lasers and music at a fine night. For those who prefer a little quieter, there are quite a few hotels and casinos in the north and southeast. Every year there are more than 30 million visitors to Las Vegas.
